A pilot project on a smart border crossing for five border checkpoints in the Russian Far East is to be launched in 2027. The digital model is expected to cut the time that vehicles spend on the border to 10 minutes by automatically positioning them along the green route, the website of the Second Russian-Chinese Forum reports.The customs procedures and customs control chief at the Khabarovsk Customs House, Vyacheslav Filipyev, focused on the project details in his remarks to the “Risks and Containers: A Workshop on Financial and Logistics Security for Medium-sized and Small Businesses of Russia and China” session. He specified that a unified digital platform would be created to handle data on transport vehicles and send them for customs registration in an automatic mode.He noted that the Customs Service intended to bring the share of automatically issued declarations to 45 percent by 2030 and finalize the development of the Unified Automated Information System of the Customs Authorities, UAIS CA 2.0.
