The territorial cancer center has presented a large-scale program of bilateral cooperation to its Chinese partners at the Second Russian-China Forum in Khabarovsk. The region is ready to offer Cina its competences in the nuclear medicine, supply of radiopharmaceutical agents and treatment based on its unique equipment, the forum’s press service reports.According to Chief Medical Officer of the Khabarovsk Cancer Center Alexei Veselov cooperation with Chinese colleagues is to open new opportunities for the region.“We are interested in exchanging clinical practice guidelines, launching joint educational programs for doctors and engineers serving complex equipment and in conducting joint research in our universities and clinics,” he added.Currently, the Khabarovsk Cancer Center has a Positron Emission Tomography Center, which is the leading institution of such kind in the Far Eastern Federal District. It produces three types of radiopharmaceutical agents. There are plans to export them to China in the future .The capacity of the center is also set to be increased to receive more patients, including from China. The range of treatments is to be increased to include new medicines.Minister of Healthcare of the Khabarovsk Territory Stanislav Maltsev noted that Russia and China are demonstrating great progress in nuclear medicine. The efficient cancer care system in the Kahabarovsk Territory has proven the region’s readiness to share its technologies with other countries and receive foreign patients.“In the first seven months of 2026 the number of local residents who have undergone medical checkups went up by 13.6 percent. The target for the share of malignant tumors detected at the early stage was achieved at 102.2 percent. In 2025 over 42,000 patients received all types of treatment. We have proven our efficiency in the region and are prepared to enter the international arena,” Maltsev stressed.
