Over the first eight months of the year, more than 5.5 million metric tons of cargo had been shipped to the Far North, including about 543,000 metric tons as part of Northern Deliveries. Accelerated container trains are being actively used to speed up shipments. For example, a container train traveling from the Moscow Railway toward the railways of Yakutia takes just 12 days, compared with 30 days previously.According to Magnushevskaya, Head of the Corporate Transport Services Center, the creation of a digital system for the automatic exchange of data as part of Northern Deliveries will help monitor the transportation process. A cargo labeling system for Northern Deliveries developed by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic will help ensure control at every stage of transportation.
