Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region Maria Kostyuk announced on social media that an agreement to build an oil refinery in the region has been signed on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
According to the governor, investors plan to channel four billion rubles into the project. The new refinery is expected to create 200 jobs and contribute to the development of the region’s infrastructure.
“This means new opportunities for growth for our region. The refinery will have an annual processing capacity of at least 500,000 metric tons of raw materials. This will help meet the needs of the Jewish Autonomous Region and other regions in the Russian Far East, as well as expand exports to Asian countries,” Maria Kostyuk wrote.
