Yury Trutnev: Over 5,000 participants from more than 70 countries applied for attending the Eastern Economic Forum

At a meeting in Vladivostok, members of the Eastern Economic Forum Organizing Committee reported to the Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev that the city and the forum’s main platform, the Far Eastern Federal University, are ready to receive the guests, according Yury Trutnev’s official site.
“We will hold the forum for the 11th time. I want to remind everybody that we are holding it not just as an event and the opportunity to bring people together, but to have additional possibilities for developing the Far East. The President’s instructions issued following the forum provide a powerful impetus for the macro region’s development. <…> It is our duty to show all the world that we are moving forward and are open for economic cooperation and establishment of humanitarian and cultural ties,” underscored Yury Trutnev.
Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov noted that this year the business program of the forum includes over 100 sessions divided into five themed tracks.
Head of Vladivostok Konstantin Shestakov reported to Yury Trutnev that the city is ready to receive the guests of the EEF. Vladivostok has completed creating the relevant forum infrastructure and had the cultural program approved.
Rector of the Far Eastern Federal University Boris Korobets has also reported on the readiness to receive the forum guests and participants. The hotel complex and the university buildings, where the business program events will be carried out, were repaired this year.
“To date, over 5,000 participants from more than 70 countries have filed applications for the forum. It continues to gain popularity and we are sure that it will give an impetus for the development of Russia,” concluded Yury Trutnev.
