Over 54,000 metric tons of diesel fuel, 3,000 metric tons of gasoline and 33,000 metric tons of coal have been delivered to Chukotka, according to Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov’s official MAX channel. Governor Kuznetsov says that in some towns, fuel needs for the coming winter have already been fully met, while in others, ships are still being unloaded.The governor also reported lower air-freight rates for fresh produce delivered to Chukotka by air.“People are already seeing the results,” he said.According to Kuznetsov, the agreements were reached during talks between the regional government, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, and Aeroflot.Meanwhile, work is continuing to deliver food supplies by sea. The Vyacheslav Anisimov cargo ship is currently en route to Chukotka carrying food products.
