The facility was built as part of the master plan for the development of Magadan. The project was implemented under a concession agreement with support from the federal and regional governments, with total funding of 2.4 billion rubles, the press service of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic reports.
The center is equipped with cutting-edge rehabilitation equipment and brings together departments providing social and medical care, psychological and educational rehabilitation, as well as occupational therapy services. The center’s specialists will provide comprehensive assistance to people with limited mobility, children with disabilities, participants in the special military operation and their family members.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Magadan Region Governor Sergei Nosov said the idea for the center dates back to 2018, when the region planned to establish a facility to help children with developmental disabilities undergo rehabilitation. As the project took shape, the center’s scope of services gradually expanded.
“Overall, the range of rehabilitation services available in the Magadan Region will soon become unique. <…> I am confident that the people who work at the center will put their heart and soul into it, along with their warmth and care, and that everyone who comes here for one service or another will feel at home,” the governor said.
