The Russian Government has approved an action plan for implementing the first stage of the Demographic Policy Strategy for the Far East for 2026-2030. The corresponding directive was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to the Cabinet press service. The plan consists of six key sections and includes over 60 specific measures.The main goal is to achieve demographic stability in the macro-region through accelerated socioeconomic development, increased birth rates, and the creation of comfortable conditions for living, working and studying.To ensure accelerated development, the competitive advantages of preferential regimes for businesses and investors will be maintained.To increase the birth rate in the Far East, regional programs and projects to promote female employment, including for those returning from maternity leave, are planned. Preferential mortgage programs and the Far Eastern demographic package will continue to be in effect. The latter includes a one-time payment for the birth of a first child and additional regional maternity capital for the birth of a second one.A significant portion of the plan is dedicated to healthcare. Further modernization of primary care is planned, and accessibility for residents of remote and hard to reach areas will be improved, including through the development of mobile medical teams.To attract qualified specialists and students to the Far East, the Rural Doctor, Rural Paramedic, Rural Teacher, Rural Cultural Worker and Rural Coach programs will continue.Plans are also in place to open branches of leading universities and new colleges, taking into account the actual needs of the labor market. A large scale modernization of the secondary vocational education system is planned, with at least 40 educational and industrial clusters and 900 modern workshops to be created.
