According to the Yakutian Governor’s Press Service, the Mohe–Nayba international transport corridor provides for the shipping of cargo from northern China to Russia via the Mohe border crossing in the Amur Region, further by railway and inland waters to the Nayba port in Tiksi, from where they would be shipped along the Northern Sea Route.At a meeting of the Gubernatorial Maritime Council, Governor of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev issued an instruction for the comprehensive exploration of this project, with particular focus on the synchronization of several stages: the construction of a port and supporting transport and energy infrastructure, development of local mineral deposits, and the establishment of a sustainable cargo base that would ensure the commercial viability of the route.Potential cargo traffic along the integrated route is estimated at a minimum of ten million tons per year.In addition to the transport corridor itself, the meeting participants addressed a range of critically important issues for the eastern part of the Northern Sea Route. Specifically, these issues include an emergency and rescue service, an offshore weather service, and river fleet modernization.
