The agenda for President Vladimir Putin’s working trip to Ulan-Ude included hearing presentations on urban development master plans, holding a meeting with Head of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov, as well as launching the Yermakovsky Mining and Processing Plant via videoconference, as reported by the Kremlin’s official website.
The President visited an exhibition titled The Far East – From a People-Friendly Urban Environment to a Master Plan, where he noted steady progress being made in implementing the projects and said that Russia’s Far East and Vladivostok have been demonstrating growth rates above the national average. In addition, the President praised Vladivostok’s cultural cluster projects and the international cable car linking Blagoveshchensk and Heihe.
“We are paying particular attention to these areas – especially the Far East. Much has been achieved recently in terms of economic, industrial, and infrastructure development,” Vladimir Putin pointed out.
In addition, the President launched the Yermakovsky Mining and Processing Plant via videoconference. Located at the strategic Yermakovskoye fluorite and beryllium deposit, the plant will have an annual capacity of up to 30,000 tons of ore. The beryllium produced there is essential for aircraft manufacturing, space technology, nuclear reactors, navigation systems, and X-ray equipment.
