While attending a meeting on power supplies for new investment projects in the Russian Far East, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev ordered to develop a coordinated schedule towards introducing new power capacities, a report on Mr. Trutnev’s official website says.According to the report, the FEFD’s high rates of industrial development and housing construction are ahead of Russia’s average indicators by anywhere between 30 and 80 percent, this leading to power shortages. Some suggested remedies include using available power capacities more effectively and creating individual economic conditions to encourage major consumers to build generating facilities of their own.“The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation needs a concrete plan of action for the next 18 to 24 months to meet the main power needs of Far Eastern investment projects. The situation is changing dynamically and everyone must take this circumstance into account,” Yury Trutnev said.
