Aide to the President and Chairman of the Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev discussed the strengthening of Russia’s defense capabilities in the north-east of the country and enhancing its naval potential with Kamchatka Territory Governor Vladimir Solodov.
While on his working trip to Kamchatka, Nikolai Patrushev also met with Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Alexander Moiseev and Commander of the Pacific Fleet Submarine Forces Valery Varfolomeyev to discuss the tasks facing the Navy in the Pacific theater.
“Maintaining the Navy’s combat capabilities, development and production of latest armaments and hardware, improving the skills and combat readiness of naval units have been and remain a priority of the state policy in the naval activity,” the official site of Kamchatka Territory executive authorities quotes Nikolai Patrushev as saying.
The Chairman of the Maritime Board also inspected the North-Eastern Repair Center to get first-hand knowledge of its operations and consider some aspects of its renovation and technical re-equipment.
