Those working in the sphere of creative economics want to stay and work in the Far East two to three times more often than other specialists; this sphere provides 70 percent of leisure opportunities for young people, Director of the Territorial Development Department at the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, Vyacheslav Zavalin, told participants in the Russian Creative Week.
He also noted that the creative infrastructure is integrated into master plans for the development of Far Eastern cities, and that the total area of new and modernized spaces would reach 100,000 square meters by 2030.
Additionally, the Director of the Territorial Development Department at the Corporation for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic said that industrial shifts had exhausted their potential in the Far Eastern and Arctic regions. At the same time, the Corporation will continue to support the principle of each macro-region’s specialization in certain creative industries. High-priority aspects include the cinema industry, architecture, urban development, the designing and fashion industries.

“We are establishing horizontal production chains in the context of each region’s priorities and specialization. Naturally, we lately dealt with the Far Eastern creative economy more actively. This year, we will develop the Arctic agenda more actively,” Vyacheslav Zavalin noted.

In turn, President of the Russian Association of Fashion Industry Participants, Tatyana Belkevich, noted that local Far Eastern and Arctic brands were becoming more and more popular. According to the Association, 93 percent of customers become loyal clients and patrons, as confirmed by high demand for authenticity and identity.
