During a working trip to the Jewish Autonomous Region, Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev addressed matters related to the implementation of investment projects, initiatives designed to stimulate the regional economy, and measures aimed at enhancing the quality of life for local residents.
At the meeting, he noted that the growth rates of the Jewish Autonomous Region surpass the national average and even outpace those observed in several other Far Eastern regions.
“Our task is to provide support to sectors that require federal assistance. These areas include mining, logistics, agriculture, and a number of others,” Trutnev was quoted as saying by the official Telegram channel of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy.
In addition, the meeting addressed the development of the bridge-adjacent Nizhneleninskoye–Tongjiang territory. As noted by Maria Kostyuk, Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region, the opening of the railway bridge across the Amur River has provided the region with a substantial impetus for growth.
“We see this both in cargo traffic volume – which surged by 42.5 percent last year – and in growing investor interest in the bridge-adjacent zone. For the region, this is important primarily because it means new jobs, additional tax revenues for the budget, and, consequently, an improvement in the quality of life for residents,” according to the press service of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation.
