Motor ships Mys Manorsky and Mys Flora left Arkhangelsk in late June, met in the Kara Sea in the vicinity of Severnaya Zemlya archipelago and continued their voyage assisted by the nuclear icebreaker Yakutiya.
In his official telegram channel Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Area Vladislav Kuznetsov reported that the ships had delivered over 17,000 tons of socially significant cargoes, containers, industrial equipment, construction materials and machinery.
“After assisting the first ships, the Yakutiya will continue its operation in the eastern section of the Northern Sea Route. In the Chukchi Sea it is to meet motor ships FESCO Uliss and Mys Shmidta,” said the governor.
Unloading operations have already begun in the port. The ship Mys Manorsky delivered over 9,000 tons of cargos and the ship Mys Fortuna almost 8,000 tons.
