The region has received 204,400 tons of essential cargoes, which makes up 20.2 percent of the annual plan, since the shipping season was opened.
According to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Government press service, as of the end of June, 26.6 percent of the planned volume of essential goods has been shipped—that is 268,200 tons out of the planned shipment volume of 1,009,500 tons. Of the total volume, 126,700 tons were shipped for essential needs, and 141,500 tons were shipped for the production needs of enterprises.
First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government Dmitry Sadovnikov noted at the meeting of the government commission on cargo delivery during the shipment season that so far the rates of transportation are lower than a year before because of the later navigation beginning.

“We have instructed them to catch up on the schedule regarding all items and constantly monitor the work. As for small rivers: we are about to complete the shipment on the Amga and have already fulfilled the transportation on the Vilyuy by over 90 percent. The last barges are on the way to accomplish this task,” said Sadovnikov.

In parallel, the republic is preparing its housing and utility facilities for the future heating season, which was finished in all districts except Tiksi, where the heat is supplied all year round.
