Over 20,000 people visited the Far Eastern International Book Fair; this year, it was organized as a street festival for the first time. According to the press service of the Amur Region Government, the exhibition featured over 600 books, published in 2024-2026.“The Far Eastern Book Fair became a significant event for the Amur Region and showed that books remain an important part of people’s lives. A format combining a fair and a street festival proved highly popular. We will continue to expand this practice in the future,” Minister of Culture and Ethnic Policy of the Amur Region Natalia Dorgunova noted.The fair involved over 70 authors, publishing houses, book distributors and creative teams from Russia and other countries, including the Republic of Belarus, China and the Khabarovsk office of the Consulate-General of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.Far Eastern regions, including the Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin regions, the Jewish Autonomous Area, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Trans-Baikal, Khabarovsk and Primorye territories, also took part in the fair.Here is how Director of Moscow’s RUDA Publishers Alexander Knyazkov summed up the fair: “Everything was very good. I am greatly impressed. I cannot remember any events which have caused such acclaim. The people are pure gold! Blagoveshchensk is wonderful!”
