Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin met with General Director of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Nikolai Zapryagayev, and discussed large-scale projects in the Arctic and the Far East involving the Corporation, as per the press service of the Russian Government.The 531-kilometer Pacific Railway, the first private railway, has been commissioned in the Khabarovsk Territory, linking a mineral deposit in Yakutia with a port in the Khabarovsk Territory.He added that the Amur Hydro-Metallurgical Integrated Works, the first enterprise for processing refractory ores, was already operating. There are plans to launch the Amur gas-chemical facility in Svobodny later this year.“This is the most ambitious gas-chemical project in Russia and the world,” Zapryagayev added.A hydro-metallurgical enterprise, now opening in the Trans-Baikal Territory, will manufacture cathode copper; this is a new metal-conversion facility at the Udokan ore mining and processing plant.The Head of the Corporation dwelt separately on new Far Eastern airports that have now started operating.Zapryagayev also noted that work was underway to implement major projects for building high-capacity refineries and petrochemical production facilities at huge copper and iron deposits in the Khabarovsk and Trans-Baikal territories.According to Zapryagayev, the fund of the Innovation Science and Technological Center has launched the center’s first pilot facility with an area of 7,000 square meters on Russky Island.Earlier this year, the Corporation started acting as technical client and helping the fund build new science and education facilities.“The first one is called the IT Cluster, and the second facility is called the Bioengineering Technologies Cluster. Their total area is over 50,000 square meters. They are not just concrete buildings, they house the center’s infrastructure which will help researchers introduce to the market R&D projects together with businesspersons and investors,” he noted in conclusion.

“The first stage of the Artyom multi-modal transport and logistic center was commissioned in the Primorye Territory during the previous Eastern Economic forum. In effect, this ‘dry’ port will become a hub for reducing the load on Far Eastern ports and will make the Trans-Siberian Mainline more cost-effective. It will serve as a transshipment junction between Asia and the Russian Federation’s regions,” the Head of the Corporation noted.
He added that the Amur Hydro-Metallurgical Integrated Works, the first enterprise for processing refractory ores, was already operating. There are plans to launch the Amur gas-chemical facility in Svobodny later this year.

“The Ministry of Industry and Trade and we supervise projects to build a printed circuit board and microwave oven plant in the Primorye and Khabarovsk territories,” he added.
According to Zapryagayev, the fund of the Innovation Science and Technological Center has launched the center’s first pilot facility with an area of 7,000 square meters on Russky Island.
“Today, the center’s residents are adding finishing touches to the facility where laboratories will be built and equipment installed; it will subsequently market R&D projects,” he said.
Earlier this year, the Corporation started acting as technical client and helping the fund build new science and education facilities.
