As part of the dialog with the Public Council of the Ministry of Transport, plans are underway to discuss the development of major transport and logistics hubs, as well as road and airport infrastructure in the Far Eastern Federal District. These proposals are expected to be incorporated into the Strategy for the Socioeconomic Development of the Far Eastern Federal District up to 2030, with a forecast through 2036.According to the press service of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, several additional initiatives for the new strategy were presented during a meeting of the Public Council of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic. In particular, participants discussed the creation of research and production clusters in bioeconomics and biomedicine based on marine biological resources and forest assets, the development of new technologies and materials for constructing durable roads in the Far North, and mechanisms to increase the transit potential of regions in the Far Eastern Federal District.“Without active dialogue and feedback from the regions, it is impossible to develop a high-quality document that accounts for all potential challenges and proposes effective solutions. Although our views may occasionally differ from those of the public on certain issues, it is precisely through debate that sound decisions emerge. Compromise solutions make a document more thought-out, comprehensive, and well-structured,” Mikhail Kuznetsov, Director of Vostokgosplan, emphasized.Mikhail Kuznetsov also spoke about the target indicators achieved under the previous Strategy for the Socioeconomic Development of the Far Eastern Federal District through 2025. Investment in fixed capital grew at twice the national average rate, labor productivity increased by 29 percent, and household income rose by 32 percent. These results have created new challenges that will need to be addressed within the framework of the updated strategy.
