Presidential Aide – Chair of the Maritime Board, Nikolai Patrushev, chaired a meeting in Naryan-Mar, where the participants discussed the creation and modernization of the infrastructure of the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor, as well as the prospects for the development of the Nenets Autonomous Area, as per the press service of the regional government.
According to Patrushev, the development of the transport and logistic infrastructure is essential for safe navigation via the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor.
“In current conditions of geopolitical and economic instability, the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor can become an alternative and safer route linking key hubs of global trade,” he noted.
Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area, Irina Gekht, emphasized that the region currently prioritized efforts to establish new transport routes earlier than planned for the development of the regional mineral sector.
The Governor mentioned the town of Indiga and its vicinity where it is possible to build a mooring terminal for the transshipment of crude oil and liquefied natural gas, as well as the coastal infrastructure and storage reservoirs.
