Chukotka Governor: Over 40 regional measures to support families yield tangible results

Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko held a meeting with Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Area Vladislav Kuznetsov. She praised the regional government for its efforts to support families and improve demographics, the press services of the Chukotka Government said in a statement.
In fact, Chukotka leads the pack within the Far Eastern Federal District in terms of the total fertility rate, and has also the highest total fertility rate for third and subsequent children.
Vladislav Kuznetsov said that the region currently offers over 40 family support measures which have been yielding tangible results. In particular, infrastructure development has been a top priority.

“We will open two more family centers this year, and there are also plans to build and improve eight sports courts and 15 playgrounds,” the Governor pointed out.

In addition to this, construction of a kindergarten in the township of Ugolniye Kopi has already started as part of the Family national project. It will accommodate 240 children with the construction scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
