Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov and South Pyongan Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ri Song Pom discussed prospects for interregional cooperation, the press service of the regional government reports.
“I believe that agriculture can become a promising area of bilateral cooperation. We are ready to export agricultural produce, including soy beans, soybean oil, oilcake, as well as foodstuffs. We see prospects for joint cultural, sports and educational projects,” Vasily Orlov said.
In April 2014, the government of the Amur Region and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea signed an agreement on trade and economic cooperation. The region also regularly takes part in the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Russia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
