This year, 211 hunters and fishermen from among the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North – residents of the Evenkiysky, Turukhansky, Yeniseysky, and Bogotolsky municipal districts – will receive harvesting equipment, according to the official portal of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Funded through the Territory’s budget, 167 pieces of equipment will be procured, including outboard motors, inflatable boats, gasoline-powered generators, electricity-generating stoves, chainsaws, and radio sets. Hunters and fishermen will also be able to obtain fishing nets, traps, tents, sleeping bags, hauling sleds, protective clothing, and other gear.
According to Anton Narchuganov, Head of the Krasnoyarsk Territory’s Agency for Developing Northern Areas and Supporting Small Indigenous Ethnic Groups, this year it became possible, for the first time, to apply for this support measure through the Gosuslugi (Public Services) portal.
“For the time being, this technical capability is available to hunters and fishermen from among the indigenous small-numbered peoples residing in the Yeniseysky, North Yeniseysky, and Bogotolsky municipal districts. Going forward, the mechanism is expected to be extended to other areas of the region, as well as to additional government services,” he stated.
It is noted that Taimyr harvesters receive equipment on a competitive basis. High-value material assets are provided to applicants once every 7 years, while low-value items are issued once every 3 years.
