The Chukotka Peninsula is getting ready to receive over 150,000 tons of oil products and nearly 68,000 tons of coal, Deputy Governor and Head of Industrial Policy Department of the Chukotka Autonomous Area Yaroslava Mamonova reported at an annual meeting dedicated to preparations for the Northern Deliveries.
Chukotsnab Company has placed orders for coal and oil products, with the Single Maritime Operator, Rosatom Arktika, to ensure further delivery to hard-of-access populated localities, including beach unloading. Under the Food Program, Chukotoptorg Company continues to sign across-the-board contracts with suppliers. It is being planned to deliver 4,600 tons of cargoes to local businesses, or 700 tons more than a year before, during the 2026 navigation season.
In parallel, the relevant authorities are purchasing new containers and bulldozers that are needed for beach operations. The loading of the first installment of containers has begun, with about 20 units in place to date. The cargo will soon leave Moscow for Vladivostok.
Purchases are being made to sign food delivery contracts intended for municipalities. The cargo base is being formed for the Northern Deliveries to be performed by the Single Maritime Operator, with account taken of private orders.
