About 6,000 people receive land plots under Hectare program since early 2026

In the first few months of 2026, 5,981 people joined the Hectare program in the Russian Far East and the Arctic; this is seven percent more on the same period of 2025. A total of 4,905 and 1,076 land plots were established in Far Eastern and Arctic regions respectively, as per the press service of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic.
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) leads the way in the Far Eastern Federal District in terms of allotted hectares; 1,868 land plots have been provided there to date. It is followed by the Primorye Territory with 1,090 land plots, and the Sakhalin Region has placed third with 429 land plots.
In the Arctic Zone during the same period, the Republic of Karelia and the Murmansk Region placed first and second with 519 and 460 land plots, respectively. These regions accounted for 91 percent of all land plots, allocated in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation. The Arkhangelsk Region placed third with 39 land plots.
In the Far Eastern Federal District, 53 percent of land plots are allocated for private housing construction. Twenty-eight percent are intended for agricultural purposes, and 19 percent - for business operations and tourism. In the Arctic Zone, 73 percent of land plots are used to build private homes; 11 percent are used for business operations and tourism, ten percent are allotted for agricultural projects, and six percent used for other purposes.
“The Commission for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic continues to provide methodological and information support to participants, including the work of the ОсвойГектар.РФ (Develop the Hectare RF) website providing all the required instructions and reference materials, including videos on how to establish land plots and to apply for Hectare program membership, as well as standard business plans,” Director of the Commission’s Department for Implementing the Hectare Program, Yulia Tishchenko, noted.
Since the program’s inception, 163,113 people have received land plots in the Russian Far East, and 11,641 people now own them in the Arctic.
