Northern delivery deadlines are disrupted 30 times less often, Director of the Department for the Development of the Russian Arctic Zone and Infrastructure Projects Implementation at the Russian Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, Ilya Chernov, told a meeting of the specialized Federation Council committee.He added that over 400 facilities of the transport and logistic infrastructure were currently involved in the freight delivery process. At the same time, the regions have started receiving treasury loans for the implementation of northern delivery projects.The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has established a transport and logistic network consisting of 13 centers; it has become possible to expand the assortment of goods from 40 to 700 items and to reduce their cost.Under a 15-year agreement, signed with the Government of Chukotka, Rosatom Arctic has become the main operator of the northern sea deliveries project; it delivered 159,200 metric tons of freight to the region last year. In 2026, the agreement encompassed Yakutia, the Khabarovsk and Kamchatka territories and the Sakhalin Region.

He added that over 400 facilities of the transport and logistic infrastructure were currently involved in the freight delivery process. At the same time, the regions have started receiving treasury loans for the implementation of northern delivery projects.
“The federal state information system Northern Deliveries will plan freight volumes, purchase consignments, calculate logistics and monitor freight traffic. The first stage of the digital contour has been launched, and the second stage is to start operating later this year,” Chernov noted in his remarks.
