The Hectare in the Arctic program is to be extended to areas with a more favorable climate and better transport accessibility, allowing local residents to become owners of free land plots, said Lyudmila Zaboyeva, Acting Minister of Property and Land Relations of the Komi Republic, addressing a meeting of the local Public Chamber.
“This will help bring unused land into economic circulation and have a positive impact on the region’s socioeconomic development,” she emphasized.
Previously, the program was in effect in four municipalities: Vorkuta, Inta, Usinsk, and the village of Ust-Tsilma.
