Following completion of outfitting and sea trials, the crab fishing vessel will begin operations in the Far Eastern fisheries basin, focusing on the harvesting and transportation of live and processed crab, according to the press service of United Shipbuilding Corporation.The vessel is 63.27 meters long and 10.6 meters wide and is designed high seakeeping capacities, enabling efficient and safe operations in unrestricted navigation, including the challenging weather conditions of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Bering Sea. Its ice-class specification allows it to operate in fine ice up to 0.5 meters thick.The Itelmen is the 10th vessel built under Project 03141 and forms part of Russia’s broader program to modernize its fishing fleet.
