Two Sever-650K hovercraft that have been added to the patrol speedboats fleet will sail the Amur River in the Khabarovsk Territory and will also serve with an inspectorate for the city of Amursk and the Amursk District, as per the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Khabarovsk territory.They have a maximum speed of up to 80 kph on ice and up to 70 kph on water. Their 430 h. p. engines allow the vessels to sail upstream and to cope with 60-cm waves. Each boat seats eight people.“We have received Sever-650K hovercraft which can operate all year round for enforcing federal legislation, monitoring compliance with safety standards on bodies of water and keeping an eye on small vessels. They can sail in shallow waters, on mountain rivers, skim the ice and water mixed with ice,” said Oleg Ponomarchuk, Acting Head of the Khabarovsk Territorial Division of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels, affiliated with the Russian Emergencies Ministry.Manufactured in St. Petersburg, these rescue vessels feature up-to-date navigation equipment and a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, as well as life preservers, round life buoys, a fire extinguisher, etc.
