Yakutia to get 250 million rubles plus to upgrade cultural institutions

According to the Press Service of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the funds will be used to overhaul the Sargytuhulgete Culture and Folk Art Center in the town of Pokrovsk, the Local History and Ethnography Museum in the Anabarsky Ulus (district), Hero of the Soviet Union Fyodor Okhlopkov Local History Museum, the National Art Museum, the National Library, the State Opera and Ballet Theater, and the Platon Oyunsky Sakha Academic Theater.
Twenty municipal cultural centers will be provided with more facilities and resources. It is planned to re-equip the National Art Museum, the Museum and Center of the Khomus of the Peoples of the World, and the Aldan Local History Museum. Children’s cultural and educational centers will be established on the basis of the Centralized Library System of the City of Yakutsk and the library of the Neryuktyainsk Nasleg (rural community) in the Megino-Kangalassky Ulus. The library in the village of Yakokit, Aldansky District, the Central Library in Vilyuisk, and the Central Ulus Library of the Churapchinsky Ulus will be granted the model status.
In addition, the authorities will commission multi-role cultural centers in the village of Suordakh, Verkhoyansky Ulus, and the village of Batamay, Kobyaisky Ulus, the Cultural Center in the village of Bechencha, and a sports and cultural center in the village of Nuya, Lensky District, as part of the My Yakutia in the 21st Century Republican Good Deeds Movement.
