The discount amounts to 50 percent of the reduced rate and is effective in the context of air ticket purchases for children aged from two to 12 years, Press Service of the Chukotka Autonomous Area’s Government reports.
The benefit applies to all of the region’s inner routes, including those to the settlements of Egvekinot and Beringovsky.
“This support measure is of particular importance for families with children living in far-off areas, where air service is the only link with other populated localities,” the report says.
In addition, the budget will provide extra allocations to subsidize air travel on the Keperveyem-Magadan route. Earlier, 2,500 air tickets at reduced rate were sold under the program. Now, the quota will be expanded by another 800 seats.
Moreover, the air authorities have increased frequency of flights on key and more frequented routes. For example, three regular summer flights per week have been coordinated on the Moscow-Anadyr route and air service has been resumed on the Krasnoyarsk-Anadyr route.
The schedule has also been adjusted on the Vladivostok-Anadyr route with one flight per week throughout the entire holiday period.
