The regional grant-based program to develop the sheep-breeding sector in the Trans-Baikal Territory until 2030 will receive 160 percent more funding, as per the press service of the territorial government.
The funding will be used to build two mono-facilities accommodating 1,600 sheep. Since the program’s inception two years ago, two factories breeding Aginskaya and Trans-Baikal sheep varieties have already used grants worth 29.8 million and 31 million rubles.
Since early 2026, the territorial budget will allocate annual grants for building mono-facilities and ensuring the sector’s more cost-effective performance.
