The program is aimed at improving the accessibility and quality of primary healthcare in the region and includes the construction of new facilities, renovation of existing medical institutions, as well as the purchase of equipment and vehicles, according to the Murmansk Region government press service.By 2030, the region plans to build four new facilities, renovate 10 central hospitals in Zapolyarny, Kola, Kovdor, Kirovsk, Olenegorsk, and Alakurtti, and purchase 284 units of medical equipment using federal budget funds.“Over the past five years, as part of the regional primary healthcare modernization program, an outpatient clinic was built in Zelenoborsky, a children’s clinic in Kola was renovated, 24 outpatient clinics and departments were overhauled, 10 new feldsher-midwife stations and four outpatient clinics were established, and 788 units of medical equipment and 143 vehicles were purchased,” noted Sergei Chukseyev, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Murmansk Region.
