The new organization has been established under an action plan to expand algae harvesting and processing projects until 2030, and it aims to pool the efforts of participants of the market of marine bioresources’ harvesting and processing for implementing large-scale investment projects, as per the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Republic of Karelia.The organization was established by a leading regional industry enterprise currently building a plant to process about 500 metric tons of brown algae from the White Sea. Fucus will be used to make baby food and nutrition for athletes, biologically active additives and other produce.The association mostly aims to expand the volumes of primary produce ultra- processing, create sustainable production chains, introduce cutting-edge technologies and take part in improving the sector’s regulatory framework.
