Published on the Kremlin website, the Executive Order says that President Vladimir Putin has decreed to accept the Government’s proposal on celebrating in 2029 the 100thanniversary of the formation of the Nenets Autonomous Area.“Relative to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Nenets Autonomous Area due to arrive in 2029, I hereby decree to recommend to the state authorities in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the local self-governments to take part in preparations for and holding of celebrations to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Nenets Autonomous Area,” the Executive Order says.According to NAA Governor Irina Gekht, the region’s 100th anniversary is a century of serving Russia in the Arctic and the signing of the Executive Order once again confirms the NAA’s nationwide importance.
