The Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic will allocate over 240 million rubles for organizing regular coastal freight traffic from 2026 until 2028 via the Northern Sea Route, as per the press service of the Arkhangelsk Region’s Government.“We are ready to deploy several vessels on this route. The company also owns a fright terminal, and we can load cargos, depending on their volumes and specifications, at our terminal and at other terminals of the Arkhangelsk seaport,” General Director of the Northern Shipping Company Andrei Krivonosov noted.According to Arkhangelsk Region Governor Alexander Tsibulsky, there are plans to link ports in Arkhangelsk and Murmansk with those in Pevek and Anadyr, including reverse traffic.“Regular freight shipments will allow the Arkhangelsk enterprise to operate at maximum capacity, thereby swelling the regional budget’s revenues and tax proceeds,” he added.
