Rescue personnel from seven regions of Russia took part in the training exercises focused on testing vehicles of improved cross-country performance. The event took place in the Khibiny Mountains, a mountain chain in the Murmansk Region, Press Service of EMERCOM of Russia reports.It took them over a week to hone the skills of driving snowmobiles and performing search and rescue operations. They also trained to detect avalanche victims, respond to emergencies, and perform first-aid dressing.“The training exercises in the Murmansk Region have confirmed that the rescuers are at a high level of professional training and ready to perform missions under most difficult climatic conditions,” Daniil Martynov, advisor to the Emergencies Minister of Russia, said.According to him, their new experience and skills will greatly enhance the effectiveness of their response in heavy terrain environments.
