The draft document is being prepared by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic and the Eastern State Planning Center jointly with federal ministries and agencies, as the ministry’s press service reports following the Public Council meeting.
According to Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic Anton Basansky, a single preferential treatment regime to be applied in two geostrategic macro regions is being developed on the President’s instruction.
“The single preferential regime will be formed with due account of the best state support practices. It is crucial for the public to be actively involved in this effort, and your expertise and knowledge in various areas are in great demand,” he emphasized.
The meeting participants discussed the planning of measures under the Demographic Policy Strategy for the Far Eastern Federal District through 2030. The strategy includes initiatives aimed at improving quality of life, increasing the birth rate, strengthening support for families with children, and attracting students and in-demand specialists to the region. The primary objective is to ensure that at least 7.86 million people live in the Far East over the next 10 years.
Participants in the meeting also discussed development of the logistics, shipbuilding, power engineering, and creative industries, tourism and other sectors. Comprehensive proposals for the projects will be prepared by the Public Council and submitted to the ministry.
