The federal budget will allocate 113.3 billion rubles, complemented by 87.3 billion rubles to be allotted from non-government sources, in order to implement 136 projects under the master plans for developing core communities in Chukotka, Speaker of the Chukotka Autonomous Area’s Duma Leonid Nikolayev told the 11th international science and practical conference, The Far East and the Arctic: Sustained Development.“The government’s task is to provide proper conditions. By helping to organize land plots and develop infrastructure – which is a costly undertaking – we foster an environment where businesses are motivated to invest in physical infrastructure,” Leonid Nikolayev specified, adding that the expected amount of investment will reach some 1.4 trillion rubles by 2035.
