The Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor is to handle 110-150 million metric tons of freight, Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic Anton Basansky noted at the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Russian Far East and the Arctic: Sustainable Development.”According to Basansky, these estimates imply that the transport corridor includes the Northern Sea Route, as well as inland seas, the ground infrastructure and freight base which virtually expands exports.“Today, we are looking at the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor as a transport corridor of the future.
