The new ice-class Icebreaker 7 vessel will support ships at Arctic ports and in their access channels on the Northern Sea Route, as per the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
The highly maneuverable port icebreaker will be able to plow through thick ice formations and to operate in cramped port environments. Its reinforced ice-class hull will have an icebreaker-type stem and an elongated forecastle superstructure.
It will also feature a diesel-electric propulsion unit, four electric thrusters and an open aft cargo deck.
