Amur Region Governor reports to Vladimir Putin on region’s development dynamics
During the working meeting, Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov highlighted the region’s robust economic growth: over the past five years, the gross regional product has doubled to 1.1 trillion rubles, according to the Kremlin website.
“Currently, 64 new projects are being implemented in the region, with a total capitalization of 2.4 trillion rubles. Economic activity is very high, and an additional 18,000 jobs will be created,” he added.
The region is also demonstrating good results in agriculture, annually setting new harvest records.
“We have very good results. In particular, in 2025, we set another record: 2.2 million tons of grain and soybeans,” Vasily Orlov emphasized.
The governor also presented a gas supply program, according to which 36 boiler houses will be built in the Amur Region by 2030. This will bring the region's gasification rate to 32 percent.
Energy sector was also discussed at the meeting. According to Orlov, the region plans to build a wind farm and a 650 MW solar power plant by 2027. Furthermore, the Nizhne-Zeyskaya Hydroelectric Power Station with a capacity of 400 MW has already been designed.
In line with the President’s direct instructions, two major projects are being built in the Amur Region: the Vostochny Cosmodrome and the gas chemical cluster. Both projects have a significant impact on the region’s development, the governor noted.
The region is successfully developing infrastructure. A large cable car and a five-star hotel are currently under construction in the Amur Region. In addition, an international road bridge has been opened, the Blagoveshchensk Airport renovated, and the House of Russian-Chinese Friendship was inaugurated.
“I believe the mission of Blagoveshchensk is to work as Russia’s gateway to China. We really hold 200 events annually. This is a unique experience. We can see strong demand from small and medium-sized businesses to enter the Chinese market,” the governor noted.
In his turn, Vladimir Putin noted the growing permanent population in the region.
“Your permanent population is growing. Typically, this happens when regional teams cover the entire range of social issues,” the President emphasized.
Vladimir Putin also thanked the Amur Region authorities for their assistance to the military: 65 percent of veterans who returned to the region from the front have found employment.
