In 2026, 416.5 million rubles from the federal budget were allocated for the territorial forest conservation project, which is almost four times more than in 2025, the press service of the Trans-Baikal territorial government reports.The funding was channeled into four spheres. The majority of funds (254 million rubles) will be used to purchase fire-fighting equipment for agencies that protect forests from wildfires. Another 133.5 million rubles will be used to increase the area of reforestation.The remaining sum will be spent on special purpose equipment for reforestation agencies and on developing forest seed growing facilities and nurseries (17 million rubles and 11.7 million rubles, respectively).
