The single maritime operator has delivered to Chukotka 152,440 tons of oil products and 6,700 tons of food and additional cargo. The navigation was completed ahead of schedule, with work proceeding at a rapid pace, according to the regional government's press service.The meeting chaired by Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov adopted a decision on expanding the area covered by the activities of the single maritime operator: several Arctic and Far Eastern regions are to join the pilot project in 2026.Meanwhile, the interaction between Chukotka and the single maritime operator will continue: the roadmap for 2026 has already been approved, the cargo verified and the contract signed. Long-term contracts between the operator and shipowners will allow to stabilize the tariffs: in 2026, the increase in the cost of cargoes delivery is forecast at the level of eight percent, which is much lower than in the previous period.Noteworthy is that no icebreakers had to be engaged during the sea navigation for the first time in the recent four years. Moreover, the single maritime operator provided for an uninterrupted delivery to most remote communities by arranging multimodal shipment with discharge over undeveloped beaches.
