As instructed by Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev following a meeting in the Arkhangelsk Region and his tour of local enterprises, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will draft proposals for supporting the wooden home construction industry, according to the press service of Trutnev’s staff.Trutnev noted that it was necessary to create incentives for the timber procurement sector.“The Government has been discussing the need to charge lower prices for the floorspace of wooden homes, being purchased by private owners. We pay for the floorspace of homes used by us. A person building a wooden home should pay less in taxes; this will boost demand for wooden homes, more rural residents will live in their own homes, and this will make it possible to procure timber,” the Deputy Prime Minister explained.
