A decision to add this teaching aid for the 5th to 7th forms to the federal list of textbooks has been made at a meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council at the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, reads a press release of the Sakhalin Region government.The textbook includes a detailed history of Sakhalin and the Kuril islands.“Our schoolchildren will have a universal quality instrument for thoroughly and systematically studying the history of their native land,” Education Minister of the Sakhalin Region Anastasia Kikteva stated.The compilation of the textbook was coordinated by the Education Ministry of the Sakhalin Region with methodological support from the Gurevich Institute for the Development of Education of the Sakhalin Region.
