The regional economy has received a record-breaking 270 billion rubles for launching multiple significant projects in the oil and gas sector, the fisheries sector and the tourism industry, according to Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko.“The attraction of investment is not just about statistics. This implies the development of the region, new production facilities and jobs for our fellow residents, the well-being of their families and the implementation of social programs using the projects’ revenues,” Limarenko noted.Acting Minister of Investment, Industry and Foreign Ties of the Sakhalin Region, Boris Dymbrylov, noted that high-profit preferential regimes were serving as an additional investment incentive for boosting the region’s socio-economic development.
