Most often, the land is used for housing construction (53%), farming (28%), as well as business (12%), and organization of rest and recreation facilities (7%).“The Hectare program is not only about getting land but also about adapting it to specific goals, be it farming, production, or agricultural tourism. We see that often people lacking even the basic agricultural skills turn out successful in business,” FEADC Hectare program head Yulia Tishchenko said.Arctic Hectare is also in stable demand in Chukotka, with over 1,500 applications tendered since the program’s launch.
