According to Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolayev, at least 100 million rubles will be allocated in 2026 to support young teachers who have just started their careers, as well as the teachers who have relocated to work in rural areas. In June the republic adopted a regional law aimed at enhancing the professional prestige of teachers by guaranteeing their status.”Practically, more teachers leave the profession each year than are hired, and this trend is particularly evident in rural areas. The reasons vary from living standards to a lack of prospects for professional growth and success. This indicates that the approach to personnel training needs to be changed, placing greater emphasis on the value of their vocation and the prestige of the teaching profession,” underscored the head of the republic.Teachers are also eligible for other support measures, such as travel and relocation allowances for young professionals, the Arctic Teacher project, housing provision in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation and the Rural Teacher federal program.
