Over the past two years, half of all the construction projects and other initiatives as per the master plans for Russia’s Far East were built, or their construction or design are already underway. As for the remaining half, these undertakings are in their structuring phase, Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Elvira Nurgaliyeva said.The official went on to say that the Government has prepared additional measures for accompanying and supporting efforts as part of the master plans.“There was a special decision to allocate 100 billion rubles in treasury loans for the Far Eastern regions. And there was also a resolution to write off two thirds of the debt incurred by the Far Eastern regions so that they can repurpose these funds for carrying out the master plans,” she pointed out.There are currently 31 projects worth 600 billion rubles in this structuring phase.
